I am getting a ton of traffic and revenue going to Unassigned since moving to SlideRule but it shows “web” as the shopify source, not draft order, etc as I’d expect with Unassigned traffic using this app. The client has never historically had alot of Unassigned traffic with no source / medium or UTM appended.
Additional update: all orders on 9/11 is missing “sra_identifiers” so all revenue went to unassigned. example attached. This is an “online store” order
we are also seeing “sra_identifiers” continually missing from some orders
Hi Heather,
Can you grant Google Analytics access to access@slideruleanalytics.com? I will take a look.
Thanks!
Kevin
Hi,
We’re seeing a similar issue. In the last 7 days, 20% of online user session revenue is coming under unassigned, and 31% into direct. We’d expect to see more in cross-network and paid social.
Thanks
I have given you access, the property is “MRK - Relaunch - GA4”. Let me know if you want to know the website - please email me directly for this.
Ours started what looks like when we installed SlideRules which was August 28th.
Any updates here? I need to inform the client if we have a tracking issue / if for some reason revenue isn’t being allocated to channels correctly.
I’ll have an update tomorrow!
@HeatherJH I replied via private message.
Thanks Heather. Have you had a solution through? We’re still stuck.
We are still investigating the site code, etc
Our issue appears to be related to Express Checkout options - Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Paypal and google pay. When a user chooses one of these options, it appears the source/medium is dropped, and it goes to Unassigned
Have you tried adding the payment gateway domains to your “exclude referrals” list in GA4 under the tag settings. [GA4] Identify unwanted referrals - Analytics Help
This wouldn’t explain why these are going into the unassigned channel. They would be going into the Referral channel. And yes we’ve negated anything that is an erroneous referral - i.e. paypal.com / referral
@kevin I’m reviewing the video. But I don’t have Shopify Landing Site as an available dimension in my GA-4 account. I assume it’s because that’s a custom dimension that hasn’t been setup in this particular account?
I also have this issue. However, my issue is not a traffic one. It’s a purchases and revenue one. Nearly 20% off my purchases are logging as (not set) or the Unassigned channel. But this represents less than 2% of overall site traffic. This leads me to believe, like heather mentioned it might be an express payment situation.
Yes. You can just remove the integration in grow.slideruleanalytics.com and re-add it so you can easily add all recommend custom dimensions and metrics. Here’s a video
We’re release an update on 10/23 that may help with attribution issues.
I am still having attribution issues , sadly for express pay options
