Our native shopify analytics are massively out with regards to data/tracking conversion rates etc, we’ve spoken with Shopify support and they are saying it’s down to the SRA app impacting how shopify is tracking/reporting.
Is there anything we know of that could be causing these issues / impacting shopifys own reporting?
I’m fully with you, but Shopify is claiming that the app being installed is affecting how they are tracking/receiving data for the shopify dashboards.
In particular, we’ve in the shopify reports we’re seeing virtually no added to carts on the site despite a large number of orders and actions. Here’s what shopify have said:
What’s happening with your report is a normal behavior when it comes to store’s with multiple scripts or codes added to their theme’s code. Like what our Support Advisor previously mentioned, there are several factors that can cause this behavior to happen, in your case, it’s an app called Slide Rule Analytics that you’ve recently installed to help with your analytics, but also affects how Shopify tracks innately.
I’ve attached a few screenshots of data that we’re seeing in Shopify. In GA We’ve seen a massive drop in ‘views per session’ one of our main metrics, and it looks like the culprit is the page_view event. Over the last week, only 9904 events, previous week 64k, Same with landing page attribution and cross channel attribution. It feels like something is going wrong somewhere but I’m struggling to work out what the culprit could be.
I’ve not tried with it uninstalled at the moment, we’re at a semi-decent point where 90% of the data is looking really good now, but we’re seeing a lot of Not set on landing pages and we can see the page view being fired, but missing details about the page a lot of the time.
I’ve been working through some of your videos trying to unpick this and im genuinely stumped still
I’ve generated a few of the reports you did a walk through on which I’ve just shared with your email address
The only other thing I’m seeing semi consistently is that is a user engagement event firing before the page view.
I’ve stripped out every other tracking we have on the site to test and it’s def coming from the SRA app but I can’t work out what/why it’s firing
